This Myers-Briggs character is defined as being extraverted, intuitive, feeling, and perceiving. The ENFP personality is one of the more common ones, accounting for about eight percent of the population. Of those who fall into this category, females outnumber men at a ratio of two to one. Finding a balance between the intuitive extravert and the sensitive introvert will be an important part of an ENFP being able to decide what they want out of life. The extravert trait ensures that this character is open-minded and enthusiastic yet the intuitive portion of the personality allows the individual to be thoughtful and insightful. This combination can yield an idealistic individual with a lust for life and an appreciation for the feelings and motives of those around them. They are multi-talented and, to outsiders, seem to be good at everything. Being a perceptive individual, he or she may also look for hidden meanings and is very good at listening to others and offering emotional support. ENFPs have a strong need to be liked by others and can sometimes, especially during childhood, act corny in an effort to be liked. This type of individual may have an excellent sense of humor which, as an extravert, will only encourage others to like them even more.

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator assesses a variety of personality traits to determine where an individual falls in a system of sixteen personality types. In the sections below, we will discuss one particular type, the ENTJ. Before continuing on, take a look at this course on the foundation of success and happiness. ENTJ Personality The ENTJ personality type is characterized by high levels of confidence and motivation, which influences individuals who fall into this category to seek out and succeed in leadership-based positions.
Goal setting, achievement striving, and success in academic and workplace environments are among the most central values to any ENTJ. These types can often be found working on a complex puzzle or using their wit to solve a controversial issue.
ENTJ Relationships As in other areas of their lives, ENTJs approach dating and relationships with a set of goals and a plan to achieve them, and proceed to do so with impressive energy and enthusiasm.
We needed someone that had the credibility and experience in the field of personality type, and knew it was going to be a pain to find them. What stood out about Rebecca from the start was her confidence and easy-going attitude about the whole project. She spoke as if it was easy and already done. And overall, the experience was easy. The best part of working with Rebecca was being surprised by her consistent over-delivering.
This was much appreciated. She gave us a custom assessment that is both incredibly accurate and valuable for a beta. In fact, we want her to be a partner with us long-term because of our experience with her. Connecting with Rebecca was one of the best things that ever happened in our business. Her ability to understand widely varying personality types and provide strategies to overcome and connect in spite of those differences is unparalleled in my experience.

Conceptualists make wonderful mates-they are loyal, uncomplaining, warmly and creatively sexual, honest, and aboveboard in their communications, and not in the least possessive. But for all the satisfactions they bring to a marriage, establishing romantic relationships with a Conceptualist usually requires much more energy and time than with the other temperaments.
Even the extraverted Conceptualists, the ENTJs and the ENTPs , although apparantly easy to get know, are difficult to get close to, for their personality structure is characteristically complex and, at times, hidden from view. Another temperament may believe that they know or are close to Conceptualist, when in fact, the Conceptualist has carefully and cautiously controlled which parts of his or her personality he has chosen to reveal to other. This results in pleasant surprises for the Conceptualit’s mate as sometimes these other, deeper facets of a Conceptualists personality may not be revealed for years.
NT Conceptualist Courtship Conceptualists do not care to spend much of their time or energy making social connections. Not only do they find the rituals of dating slightly absurd, but they seem to have more difficulty than other temperaments engaging in play, which makes dating usually something of a trial for them. While the NTs will attempt to cover their lack of social skills by clowning around, they tend, on the whole, to be rather serious and cerebral, enjoying discussions of esoteric topics full of technical details everything you wanted to know about chemical bonding-and more , a pastime which the other temperaments are apt to find dreadfully dull.
For most NTs, intellectual development seems to proceed at a faster rate than does the social development-they are often math whizzes and science nerds in high school and college-and they tend to prefer thier books and computers to football games and prom dates. But even in young adulthood, Conceptualists remain somewhat stiff and awkward when it comes to dating, and many show almost no interest in developing social graces or in being popular.
Once in a college or business environment, extraverted Conceptualists might decide quite deliberately to date around for the fun of it, and some might experiment with sexual practices. But when establishing more and lasting relationships they are not likely to be given into impulse. Indeed, and as a matter of personal ethics, Conceptualists usually regard sexual promiscuity with distate.
Even talking about their sexual experiences is uncomfortable for them, and they are not likely to discuss past involvements with a partner or with others, and almost never discuss thier current sex life with friends.

Judging-Perceiving The different combinations of these four criteria define sixteen possible personality types. The type formula is denoted by the first letters of the combination, e. Introduction All sorts of factors enter into how we choose a mate. Where we live plays a large part in determining the people we meet; likewise our age, race, religion, and educational level influence our range of romantic contacts. For some, there are obligations of social class to satisfy, family expectations to consider, or economic circumstances to take into account. And certainly our physique makes us attractive to some and not to others, as well as attracting us to some and not to others.
And yet, another factor involved in our choice of mate, at least as powerful if not more, is our personality type. Given a number of choices, determined by all the other factors-national origin, social background, physical attraction, and so forth-we will select our mate according to personality style. After all, what do we mean when we say that a person is, or is not, “our type”? For some this might have to do with the physical appearance, indicating a preference for a certain height, weight, hair color, or the like.
But more often the phrase ‘my type’ suggests an awareness that we are most attracted to, and get along best with, a particular sort of person. People have long tried to identify some such categories of personality in their dating partners, even looking to questionable astrological signs for clues to character, and devising popular classifications such as the “strong, silent type” or the “girl-next-door,” the “gentleman” or the “party girl,” just to name a few.
Attraction At the outset, it should be emphasized that there are no right or wrong attractions; in individual cases, any personality type can be attracted to any other, and for all sorts of reasons. On the other hand, romantic attractions are not random nor indiscriminate. Attractions show clear patterns and frequencies.

It’s been quite some time since I got interested in typology and ENTJs are direct and commanding communicators, often with a clear idea of what needs to be done and and a take-charge attitude toward organizing people and projects. ENTJs are organized and strategic in their thinking. They communicate their vision and their plan to implement it in a logical, task-oriented way. ENTJs see flaw in ideas and plans quickly and give critique freely.

The ENFP’s Guide To Dating Rationals – ENFPs belong to the idealist temperament group, but they often find themselves dating rational types – that is, INTJs, ENTJs, INTPs and ENTPs. These temperaments balance each other out in some ways but utterly conflict in others.
As in other aspects of their life, they want to be the leader in the relationship, and take on responsibility for making things work. The are creative leaders, and are likely to have relationships which promote constant growth and learning. Since they are constantly scanning the environment for new ideas and things worth learning, the ENTJ may frequently re-define the “rules” of the relationship, although their commitment remains constant. If it becomes very clear to them that the relationship no longer offers any chance of growth or learning, the ENTJ will leave the situation, and not look back.
ENTJs are usually very successful in their careers, and usually very good with money. This is helpful in that it may remove a lot of the conflict which couples generate over money matters, but it may become a problem if the ENTJ is too much of a workaholic to spend time on the growth and development of the relationship. The ENTJ is not naturally in-tune with the feelings and emotions of their partners. ENTJs who allow themselves time to be alone, and develop the introspective “feeling” side of their natures, will be generally “softer” individuals, who are more aware of their partners’ emotional needs.
However, this awareness is almost always a conscious attempt on the part of the ENTJ, rather than a naturally occuring characteristic. ENTJs who do not make the attempt to be aware of others, and to value their feelings and opinions, may find themselves in unbalanced relationships, where real communication does not take place. These kinds of situations present a two-edged sword to the ENTJ.
They want to be in charge, but if they become so much in charge as to stifle their partners, they will eventually become bored with the relationship.
Find out what yours are! As an ENTP, you are what is known as a visionary. You are an innovator.
In relationships, the ENTJ is a commanding and challenging partner. ENTJ s have high expectations for themselves and for their partners, and want a mate who will put in the time and effort necessary to create a successful life together.
Just intrigued, not implying that your source should be called into question. Note that both have the T preference, as your F cognitive function is your last. I only have two examples of ENTJs in my life, and our relations were 1 slightly awkward and 2 epic friendship. Our dynamics usually become a struggle for power, attention, and the punch line, because we both have more aggressive, extroverted approaches. As for what we get from eachother– usually just a good time relating Ne to Ni, storming the world with Te, and being an unstoppable force when tag teaming something.
This makes me think that both parties would have to work to balance out the Fi obstacle in order to make a relationship satisfying to both parties.
